Ottawa – 09 November, 2017 – BluMetric Environmental Inc. (TSX-V: BLM) is pleased to announce that an Ontario mining client has issued change orders to two of BluMetric’s existing contracts for a combined increase of more than $2 million.
The first change order, extending work that was previously announced (press release dated September 28, 2016) includes drilling and engineering to support the design of a barrier wall, reservoir, pump-house, and pipeline for collection and management of impacted water. This work begins immediately.
The second change order is for remedial assessment for technologies including barrier walls, cut-off walls, dams, and trenches, relying on some geophysics as non-intrusive investigation. This work includes a pilot study for an innovative Permeable Reactive Barrier, which BluMetric will design, install, and monitor for two years. If this pilot is successful, similar barriers may be deployed at multiple locations to treat impacted groundwater, saving the client millions of dollars in comparison with more traditional remedial approaches.
“These awards reflect the strong relationship that BluMetric has with this client, as well as the growth in the array of services we are able to offer,” said Rich Schmidt, Client Manager and Senior Hydrogeologist. “We have consistently delivered high-quality services anchored in our practical and insightful use of innovative remedial technologies well-suited for their particular needs. We reliably and cost-effectively solve their problems.”
“I am impressed by the rapidly expanding volume of work that our consulting services group does for long-term clients and the trust that these clients have in our team,” said Roger Woeller, BluMetric’s CEO. “Moreover, this new work not only reinforces the value of relationships in this business, but highlights our ability to create differentiated, customized products and services, which is fundamental to our approach and strategy.”
