Ottawa – March 30, 2015 – BluMetric Environmental Inc. (TSX.V: BLM), an Ottawa-based cleantech company, today announced several changes to its Board of Directors following its annual general meeting, held March 26, 2015.
Mr. Ron Clifton was elected to the Company’s Board of Directors by shareholder consent. Ron Clifton, MASc, P.Eng., is a professional engineer with a broad range of corporate experience running and growing international high-tech companies. As President and founder of CliftonGroup International Limited, Mr. Clifton has provided consulting services to C-level executives in both SMEs and the business units of larger companies. In addition to a number of president and CEO posts, Ron served as General Manager of Zenon Environmental Systems Inc. (a water and wastewater treatment company acquired by GE Water in 2006), and has both public- and private-company experience at senior management, operations, project management, and board levels. BluMetric also announced the retirement of Mr. Denis Douville, who has served for four years on the boards both of BluMetric and one of its predecessor companies.
By majority shareholder consent, the BluMetric board now consists of Mr. Jordan Grant, Ms Jane Pagel, Mr. Roger Woeller, Mr. Murray Malley, and Mr. Ron Clifton. Mr. Ian Malone, formerly BluMetric’s CFO, will act as Secretary to the Board.
BluMetric also announced the appointment of Mr. Murray Malley as Board Chair. Effective immediately, Mr. Malley, an independent board member for the past 18 months who chaired the Board’s Audit Committee, will be taking over the position from Mr. Jordan Grant. Mr. Grant, who has served BluMetric as Chairman since the Company’s creation in 2012, and served as Chairman as well as interim CEO of a predecessor company, will continue to sit on the Board as a Director.
Murray Malley, CA, MBA Int’l., ICD.D, is President of Malley Associates, founded in 2007, an association of C-suite executives who provide small- and mid-cap companies with mentoring and guidance on financial strategies, governance, and corporate sustainability. For the past 11 years, Mr. Malley has also served as President of HRand Inc. and its predecessor company, MediDirect. He developed a single-platform, fully integrated human resource software suite of payroll, benefits, and HR information systems. His extensive experience at the senior executive level spans a wide range of industries, including waste management.
