BluMetric has provided waste management services to the Municipality of Faraday since 1991, including engineering advice and environmental support services. The two Ontario municipalities of Faraday and Bancroft have historically shared the use and associated expenses for the operation of the Faraday Waste Disposal Site (WDS).

BluMetric has provided the following services to the Joint Waste Management Board:

  • Annual surface water and groundwater monitoring and reporting in compliance with the regulatory requirements
  • Annual advice on operations and management of the landfill site
  • Development of Operations and Maintenance Plans
  • Design and application for an 80,000 m3 extended life capacity
  • Development of an environmental monitoring program and the associated trigger mechanism and response plan
  • Final Closure Plan approvals, tender document specifications and drawings development, and construction oversight of cell closures as they reach final capacity

BluMetric continues to provide expert engineering services to the Municipality of Faraday for the extended use and operation of the site, including capacity optimization through redirection and recycling efforts. BluMetric conducts groundwater, surface water and gas monitoring each spring and fall, and prepares an annual report that is submitted to the Ministry of Environment, Parks and Conservation. A total of 33 groundwater monitoring well locations and one (1) Leachate Monitoring Location (LCS) are included in the annual groundwater monitoring program and nine (9) surface water monitoring locations are included in the surface water monitoring program.
