The Environmental Scientist Regional Manager will be responsible for developing BluMetric’s environmental consulting practice in the Yukon and provide support across Northern Canada. This role has the opportunity to grow with the business and take it to new heights while participating in the hands-on operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • execute and manage environmental site assessments, site characterization, soil and ground water remediation design and implementation, ground water modelling
  • prepare proposals and technical reports
  • use your environmental sciences expertise and relationship building skills to grow opportunities within the region
  • Collaborate with department leaders to optimize integrated business solutions and client management,
  • Manage and grow the Whitehorse office
  • Develop relationships within Yukon communities and across Northern Canada

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering or Earth, Environmental or Geological Sciences
  • Minimum 5 years environmental consulting or technician experience
  • Experience in environmental site assessments (Phase I, II & III) and the remediation of soils and ground water
  • Understanding of geology, physical or chemical hydrogeology, contaminated site investigations, delineation and remediation
  • Knowledge of and experience in the mining sector is ideal
  • Familiarity with current safety regulations and best practices
  • Business development acumen
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel overnight and flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required
  • Extended periods away for project related travel
